Looking at some of the Printers on sale at Office Depot and Staples Sept 11-17. Some times it may be hard to decide which machine to buy. You should be aware that the machine cost is just the beginning. The greatest cost is the toner cartridges that the machines use.
Here is a look at some machines that are on sale this week. I’ve included the Brother EHL-5470DW Refurbished machine because it was a little cheaper. I’ve bought Brother refurbished machines in the past with no problems.
The cost per page is using cartridges from Quinn’s Rapid Recharger. Cartridges are rated at 5% coverage. You will probably use more than 5% coverage, but if you do that will make the pay back period even quicker.
|Machine||Speed||Cost||Cost Per Page (QRR)|
|Brother HL-2320d||30 ppm||$60 on sale at Staples & Office Depot||$0.0187|
|HP P1102w||19 ppm||$100 on sale at Staples & Office Depot||$0.0250|

|HP M402n||40 ppm||$170 on sale at Staples & Office Depot||$0.0106|
Start with Brother HL-2320d $60 on sale at Staples & Office Depot

Break Even Point is $90/($0.0111) = 8108 pages. 1.62 reams of paper.
So in Scenario #1 you spend $90 more for the printer, but after less than 2 reams of paper you have saved over $90 and are still saving on your toner.

There are some other factors that you might or might not need or be using. A D suffix means the machine can duplex. A N suffix means it is network ready. A W suffix means it can connect wirelessly.
At Quinn’s Rapid Recharger we usually do not sell the machines, just the toner cartridges that go inside. We can offer suggestions as to what machine will fit your needs. You can call us at 760-724-0157 or email us at email@example.com
